Did Nevada really get shutout by Notre Dame 35-0 in first game? Since that game, the Wolf Pack has played up to expectations and are totaling 39.5 points per game in last seven contests. Nevada is trying to go unscathed in WAC action, setting up season ending showdown at Boise. First they will contend with San Jose State.

New York may have the champions of baseball, but they also have football that was supposed to be a Super Bowl contender that’s surrendered 110 points in three consecutive losses. The Giants will attempt to end losing streak against San Diego before their bye week. It’s a conundrum for NFL sports bettors, with several large spreads in division games; do you take or give the points? Baltimore upset Denver last week and is now a road favorite at first place Cincinnati who’s rested off a bye. Hmmm.

It’s the final week of the regular season and three of the four games still have playoff implications, thus the focus will on those. Toronto is the only team officially eliminated and one squad more will be finished after this weekend, with a bye week to be handed out along with playoff seeding. It had to happen eventually, but the road dogs were finally placed in the kennel with 0-3 ATS week. Nonetheless, an unbelievable 27-14 ATS season to date record, good for 65.8 percent. With just four games to play, the Under is 39-28-1, 58.2 percent.

It’s crunch in college football. Conference titles are up for grabs as calendar rolls into the first weekend of November. Upsets are not only likely, they are expected. Does LSU have the muscle to knock off Alabama? Will Ohio State win at Penn State to set up bigger Big Ten battle with Iowa next? If Stanford is going to upset Oregon, they couldn’t ask for better setup. Connecticut and Nebraska have had tumultuous seasons for different reasons; do they have one big game left in them? Can Tulsa rise from three-game losing streak and mess with Houston’s dreams? Answers forthcoming.
